If you cast your mind back to just over 3 weeks ago when the nation witnessed the biggest achievement for women’s football in 56 years… The Lionesses, winning the Euros 2022! They inspired generations with their determination and resilience, could this be you?
North Kent College wants to support the cause and help you find a place within our very own girls’ Football Academy.
Here are 5 tips to help you realise that dream of becoming the next great female footballer:
- Have the desire
Having the desire to get out on the pitch everyday and play to the best of your ability is vital to both your success and enjoyment of the game.
- Training
You will never stop practicing and learning throughout your football career, this means you will continue to grow and improve to become the best you can be.
- Challenge yourself
‘I just want to challenge myself all the time’ is a quote from England right-back Lucy Bronze. To get to the level Lucy is at in her career, she must keep challenging herself to strengthen her skills as a professional footballer. This is good advice for anyone aspiring to reach the level she has.
- Stay Motivated
Motivation goes a long way in every sport, and this is true for football. Look for something that motivates you and key in on it. This will keep you performing well at every game and practice.
- Enjoy it
Finally, do not forget to have fun and enjoy football. The more you enjoy it and relax, the better you will be and the more confident you will become.
With a spotlight on women’s football, it has never been a better time than the present to kickstart your career in football and become one of the best.
