Why did you choose North Kent College?

I chose North Kent College as they were the closest college that offered the course I was looking for. The company I am carrying out my apprenticeship with also has a good rapport with the College already.

What would you say are the best three things about studying at North Kent College?

Firstly, the workshop facilities are fantastic, there's such a variety of vehicles to work on and you have access to all the tools you require to learn. The lecturers in this Department are incredibly knowledgable and if you put in the work they can make your time at North Kent College so enjoyable. Lastly, the friends I have made whilst attending this College have made my experience even better.

How has North Kent College helped your career?

I did transfer workplaces half way through my apprenticeship and the College were incredibly helpful and the transition was problem free. This transition allowed me to grow and obtain a lot more knowledge in the workplace.

Where do you now work and what's next for you?

I work for Beck Evans as an Apprentice Technician in the workshop. I will qualify this summer (2024), after this I will carry on working as a technician at my current workplace. I will advance my knowledge by obtaining my hybrid/electric qualification as this is the future. Long term, I will work towards a Master Technician position.

What has been your route getting to your current position?

I applied for apprentice positions with various companies, whilst waiting, I did a Level 1online Customer Service course which ended with two weeks work experience in a sector of my choice (automotive). After my work experience I was offered an apprenticeship.
