LEVEL 4 FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN ART AND DESIGN
Jude studied Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at North Kent College, graduating with a Merit in 2024. Here he tells us about his time at the College and why he studied here.
What made you choose to study at NKC?
I liked the ratio of teacher to student, the location and the unlimited facilities and resources on offer.
What made you choose to study this course?
Having completed an UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design, the Foundation Course felt like a natural progression in my studies and I greatly appreciated the guidance and teaching of David Young.
Did you expect to achieve a Merit in your exams?
I was hopeful for a good grade, having received a distinction for my UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design, and I was very pleased with the outcome of my installation and satisfied with result.
What have been the best things about studying at NKC?
The one to one teaching time, the facilities, the studio space and location.
How did the NKC facilities aid your study?
The variety of unlimited facilities and access to the workrooms, support and guidance in finding materials to recycle in order to construct installation pieces, was invaluable.
Would you recommend studying at NKC?
Yes it is a great environment in which to learn, with really good facilties, guidance, teaching and support from the teachers and staff.
What’s next for you?
Following successful completion of my Foundation Course, I was fortunate to receive four offers from universities to study a Fine Art Degree, including Kingston and Bristol UWE. But I am currently taking time out from my studies, to pursue other interests, including completing a logo commission for Google for a SEN project, as well as travel.
