I chose to attend the Tonbridge Campus after looking at different alternatives and routes that I could potentially go down after completing my GCSEs.  A close friend of mine had also attended the Tonbridge Campus at the time.

The teaching and marking systems were one of my favourite aspects of the course.  I was lucky enough to have both Sharron Richardson and Sally Ellery for the entire time that I attended college.  Each lesson was well-structured, ensuring learning was ALWAYS taking place.  I also really enjoyed arriving at college each day to see my peers.

Our ‘Legal London’ day trip was a highlight.  Our class visited the Royal Courts of Justice, Lincoln’s Inn Fields and the Old Bailey.  We gained a lot of knowledge and it provided a great opportunity to bond.

I am now working for a professional law firm in the City as a conveyancing assistant and attending Westminster Law School on a part-time basis. I can 100% say that the CILEx Level 3 Legal Secretaries course was an important factor in securing my current role, as I actually undertook work experience with the same law firm back in March 2019.

Each day is different, but my job entails communicating and liaising with clients, answering a high volume of phone calls, retrieval of files/deeds and reception duties, when required. I am very new to the job, but am receiving great feedback.

My advice to anyone seeking a similar career would be to never give up - and be consistent.  Making a great first impression is also very important - be yourself and do not be afraid to ‘step out of your comfort zone’.  Ask questions if need be - it actually shows that you are eager to learn!
