What makes Our College a great place to work?

Our Dartford, Gravesend, and Tonbridge Campuses are all part of the North Kent College portfolio. Our campuses all have distinct workplace like qualities where students can train in industry standard facilities which prepare them for employment. North Kent College has seen significant growth in student numbers over the last few years and new programme developments and an increasing commitment to working with local employers makes a real contribution to our local communities. We have rebuilt our campuses in order to deliver world class education and we are committed to providing our students with the best learning experience possible.

Whether you are a bricklayer eager to pass on the skills you have learnt on the site or fresh from university looking to start a career, there is something for you here.

You will be working with enthusiastic, dedicated colleagues and the most challenging and rewarding customers – our students. You will find yourself really stretched to answer their questions and meet their expectations, but there is no feeling like knowing that you have made a difference, that you have started someone on a life-long career path. It’s quite a responsibility – are you up for it?

Safeguarding

North Kent College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and all staff have a responsibility to share and maintain this commitment. In line with the requirements of ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, appropriate safeguarding checks (including an enhanced DBS check) will be undertaken on all individuals selected for appointment. Posts at the College, a specified establishment where the work gives opportunity for contact with children, are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to complete and submit prior to their interview a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Further guidance / information from the Ministry of Justice can be found on GOV.UK.

Equal Opportunities

We are an equal opportunities employer and have been awarded the Positive About Disability Award. This confirms that we commit to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria, outlined in the person specification. We will consider on the basis of ability, while taking into account reasonable adjustments.

Confidentiality

North Kent College will use the information given on your application for recruitment and selection, personnel management and for employment purposes in respect of successful candidates. The information you give us will be kept confidential and your personal information will not be disclosed to third parties without your prior consent, except where necessary, to confirm information provided by you; and in compiling anonymous statistical data required to be submitted by Government Agencies. Access to sensitive personal data is strictly controlled and confined to Human Resources staff, with responsibilities in these areas.
