Introduction

Thank you for applying to join our Construction T-Level Course at North Kent College. We’re really looking forward to meeting you. Please arrive in the college reception at your allocated interview time, we do require all items listed below, otherwise we cannot make you an offer. 

The Technical Qualification content has been designed from the Outline Content created by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and the Construction T Level panel. It has used the Outline Content to create the Technical Qualification specification and assessment, which has been validated by a panel of construction employers and education providers to ensure it is appropriate for the progression routes identified.

Students will learn about the following topics: Health and safety, Science, Measurement, Building technology, Information and data, Digital technology, Construction mathematical techniques, Design, Construction and the built environment industry, Sustainability, Relationship management, Commercial business, Project management, Law Plus their specialist area of Construction, Surveying, and Design.

Our Entry Requirements

We require five GCSEs at Grades 9-6 which must include English and Maths. Science and ICT are desirable.

Attendance of the course Taster Day is mandatory and failure to attend can result in your offer being retracted.

You must provide evidence that you are either currently working at, or predicted to achieve these minimum entry criteria before we can offer you a place on our courses.

School Report & Grade Sheet 

Please provide a full school report either prior to, or at the time of your interview.
This must contain predicted grades, attendance percentage and attitude/behaviour to learning. (For applicants aged under 19 years).

If you are over 19, please provide copies of your GCSE certificates and a reference from your current employer or post 16 education provider.

Your interview may not take place if you do not bring the requested documents.

What Will Happen On The Day

The first part of this interview contains an assessment, the tutor will collect you from reception, set you up in a quiet room with the assessment paper. The assessment will take approximately an hour.

The tutor will return to you after this hour, to collect you for your interview.

What Should You Bring

We would like to see a copy of your most recent school or college report (for applicants aged under 19 year).  If you have been issued a predicted grade sheet then please also bring this with you.  If you have already completed a qualification, please bring confirmation of grade with you.
