Introduction
Thank you for applying to join our Motor Sport Course at North Kent College. We’re really looking forward to meeting you. Please arrive in the college reception at your allocated interview time, we do require all items listed below, otherwise we cannot make you an offer.
We have a fully functioning garage, diagnostic centre and workshops, which have all the latest equipment. This will enable you to gain your experience in a real world setting that will help you to progress seamlessly into the industry. All of our highly qualified staff have worked in real commercial garages and retain contact with industry. This often means we help you get work in the industry while you study.
Our courses are designed to engage and motivate learners who are interested in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and the various roles that are available in the retail motor industry. The main emphasis of our courses are on practical skills development, which takes place in our well-equipped workshops.
Our Entry Requirements
Level 1: Minimum 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including Maths, English and Science, or equivalent OR Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - Entry Level and Entry Level
Level 2: GCSEs Grade 4 or above in English & Maths, OR Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle.
Level 3: Level 2 Vehicle Technology (Motor Sport) and five GCSEs Grade 5 or above including English, Maths and Science
School Report & Grade Sheet
Please provide a full school report either prior to, or at the time of your interview.
This must contain predicted grades, attendance percentage and attitude/behaviour to learning. (For applicants aged under 19 years).
If you are over 19, please provide copies of your GCSE certificates and a reference from your current employer or post 16 education provider.
Your interview may not take place if you do not bring the requested documents.
What Will Happen On The Day
Report to Reception, where you will be met by one of our tutors, who will then take you to the interview room.
What Should You Bring
We would like to see a copy of your most recent school or college report (for applicants aged under 19 year). If you have been issued a predicted grade sheet then please also bring this with you. If you have already completed a qualification, please bring confirmation of grade with you.
