Introduction 

Thank you for applying to join our Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Course at North Kent College. We’re really looking forward to meeting you. Please arrive in the college reception at your allocated interview time, we do require all items listed below, otherwise we cannot make you an offer. 

Courses are taught by staff who are all industry qualified and will use their experience to give you the best support and start to your future.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning courses are delivered at our Gravesend Campus, which is also the home of The Hall Training Centre. This is where we offer a range of full-cost courses, including F-Gas and Ammonia training. Over the years we have developed strong business links with local employers and a great record for getting our students on to Apprenticeships with reputable companies.

Please note if you have not previously completed a Level 1 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Course or worked within the industry, you will be offered Level 1. 

Our Entry Requirements

Level 1: A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 in Maths and Grade 3 in English, Science and one other subject.

Level 2: A Level 1 Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 in English and Maths, and Grade 3 in science and one other subject.

You must provide evidence that you are either currently working at, or predicted to achieve these minimum entry criteria before we can offer you a place on our courses.

 All students must complete Level 1 prior to studying Level 2 with us.

School Report & Grade Sheet 

Please provide a full school report either prior to, or at the time of your interview.
This must contain predicted grades, attendance percentage and attitude/behaviour to learning. (For applicants aged under 19 years).

If you are over 19, please provide copies of your GCSE certificates and a reference from your current employer or post 16 education provider.

What Will Happen On The Day

Report to Reception, where you will be met by one of our tutors, who will then take you to the interview room.

 

 

What Should You Bring

We would like to see a copy of your most recent school or college report (for applicants aged under 19 year) If you are over 19, please provide copies of your GCSE certificates and a reference from your current employer or post 16 education provider, if you have not already send via email as above.  If you have been issued a more up to date predicted grade sheet, then please also bring this with you.  If you have already completed a qualification, please bring confirmation of grade with you.
