Are you having second thoughts about Sixth Form? Don’t worry it still isn’t too late to join us at North Kent College this September.
Regardless of what you are studying now, our Dartford, Gravesend and Tonbridge campuses have a huge range of options for you to choose from.
We offer vocational courses, apprenticeships and T-Levels in a variety of areas, and you can swap to a Level 3 course or T-Level, which is the equivalent to A-Levels, and allows you to progress onto University afterwards (our Level 3 courses can take 1 or 2 years to complete).
What are vocational courses?
Vocational courses are different from A-Levels in that they are designed to provide you with specific skills, knowledge and training related to a particular trade occupation or industry.
Essentially you will learn the skills employers are looking for and need within their business.
And here at North Kent College we have hundreds of courses to choose from covering a wide variety of subjects ranging from Arts, Business and Computing, Construction and Engineering, Sport, Hospitality, E-sports, Travel and so many more!
When you have found your ideal course check which of our three campuses (Dartford, Tonbridge and Gravesend) it is based at.
Our courses pages also tell you what our previous students have said about the course, as well as your progression options afterwards, including potential career paths.

What are Apprenticeships?
An apprenticeship is a real job, where you can develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in your chosen profession.
If you are an apprentice, you spend 20% of your working hours in training and development, which is often with us at college, or sometimes in your workplace. The remaining 80% of your time is spent in your workplace applying the skills and knowledge you are learning in a working environment.
We are one of the country’s leading apprenticeship providers, and offers apprenticeships in a number of sectors such as Engineering, Hairdressing, Maritime and many more.

What is a T-Level?
T Levels were introduced in September 2020 for 16 to 18-year-olds, and one T Level is the equivalent of three A Levels. They are essentially a technical alternative to A Levels.
The core difference between the two qualifications is that whilst A Levels are completely academic, T Levels offer a mix of classroom-based learning and the chance to learn workplace skills in the subject you are studying via a 45-day industry placement.
We have T-Levels in multiple subject areas ranging from Construction and Engineering, Early Years, Healthcare, and more.
