GCSE Results Day is almost here, and invariably it comes with a mixture of trepidation, excitement, joy and sometimes a tinge of disappointment depending upon the results you have got.

But no matter what the day brings, don’t panic, the likelihood is that there is a course for you at North Kent College.

Across our three campuses at Dartford, Tonbridge and Gravesend we offer a huge range of courses covering an equally wide variety of potential career paths.

But first, let’s answer some questions you might have after opening your GCSE results:

Does it matter if I didn’t achieve a grade 4 in English or Maths?

You could be able to continue to learn English and/or Maths alongside your chosen course and then resit the subjects to ensure you have the qualifications before you leave North Kent College.

If your grade is a 2 or below you will need to undertake functional skills learning, this teaches the understanding of English and Maths, but through a vocational context.

* the above is subject to discussions with specific curriculum teams and dependent upon the course applied for.

I’ve decided I don’t want to stay at school and I want to come to North Kent College, is that possible?

Definitely!

We are holding GCSE Information Days at each of our campuses on Thursday 22 August and Friday 23 August, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

These specially organised days are for young people have not yet applied to North Kent College, and allow you to talk to our tutors and careers team to find the best option for you with a view to starting in September.

I can’t make the GCSE Information Day, does that mean I can’t come to North Kent College?

No it doesn’t.

If you can’t make our GCSE Information Days, just visit the campus that offers your course, between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm on the days below, and we can discuss your options for starting this September.

  • Dartford Campus: Monday 2nd, Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September
  • Gravesend Campus: Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th September
  • Tonbridge Campus: Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th September

I did not get the grades I was hoping for, can I still come to North Kent College?

As we mentioned earlier, we have a huge range of courses on offer for students of all levels.

Even if you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, the likelihood is there might be an option that suits you.

Come along to our GCSE Information Days and we can discuss things with you.

We hope to welcome you to North Kent College in September. Good luck!
