Did you know today (15 September) is National Tradesmen Day?
It is a day when the hundreds of thousands of men and women working in the industry are celebrated!
If you are practically inclined, then a job as tradesperson could be ideal for you.
It might also be a good time to train in the industry, as the Office for National Statistics estimates, that due to Brexit legislation, there are almost 250,00 workers fewer in the construction industry than three years ago. The Federation of Master Builders reports a similar issue.
The good news is we have a range of courses here at North Kent College that could help you progress down that route.
We run a number of Construction courses at our Gravesend Campus with dedicated facilities for brickwork, painting and decorating, carpentry and multitrades.
If you are more interested in becoming an electrician, then our Gravesend Campus also offers Electrical Installation courses.
Gravesend is also where our Refrigeration and Air Conditioning courses are taught, whilst Plumbing and Heating courses are provided by our Tonbridge and Gravesend campuses.
You will learn in facilities that simulate real environments, so you get practical experience of the trade you will be working in.
If you are inspired by National Tradesmen Day to work in one of these industries you can start your journey by visiting the Subject List page of our website to find out in more detail about the area you are interested in.
