The sixth annual #LoveOurColleges campaign is upon us and will once again provide a chance to celebrate all the things that colleges across the country do.
The Colleges Week event, run by the Association of Colleges (AOC), has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2018 to the extent that, this year, it is being extended from one week to two!
The first week will start on Monday (9 October) and focuses on how colleges support local skills, labour markets and life chances.
The second week, (starting on Monday 16 October), will focus on the role colleges play in supporting the national economy and how, with greater investment, the sector can help boost the country’s productivity levels.
Each day will have a specific theme which includes construction, digital, green skills, health and social and hospitality.
In previous years, by working as a collective of colleges, the event has led to two Westminster Hall Debates, questions at Prime Minister’s Questions and Treasury Questions, a renewed focus on further education within the Education Select Committee and helped to establish hundreds of meetings between MPs and colleges.
