- Use contrasting colours
Make each element of your dish stand out by contrasting the different colours on the plate. You can use bold colours to create appealing visuals with simple ingredients that come in a variety of colours such as carrots, beans, beetroot and potatoes.
- Use edible garnishes and decorations
Garnishes and decorations are a great way of styling your dish and creating a more beautiful plate design. However, make sure everything you use is edible and doesn’t change the taste of the dish.
- Keep it simple
If you are unsure on what to add to a dish, simplicity is best. Overcrowding a plate can make it look messy, sometimes it is best to let the quality of the cooking speak for itself.
- Create layers and height
Start building up, it is suggested that 3 different heights are perfect. By layering and stacking food, you can add a lot of dimensions to your plate and create a unique dish that stands out from the rest.
- Express yourself
Finally, plating is an art form so express your personality and love for food with the presentation. Get creative and enjoy yourself.
