1.A Freelance Photographer

As a freelance photographer, you are a self-employed professional who takes photos for clients. You perform jobs on a contract basis, managing your client list and workflow on your own.

2.Commercial Photographer

Commercial photography includes images that are used to market products and services. This career comprises several types of photography, including architectural, product, portrait, and food photography. These photos appear in media such as ads, catalogues, websites, and social media.

3.Photojournalist

Photojournalism is the act of documenting events for publications. A photojournalist photographs, edits, and displays images in order to tell a visual story. The subject matter can vary, from social unrest in a foreign country, to issues and events happening at a local level. Photojournalists can work as freelance photographers, or can be employed by photo agencies, magazines, or local newspapers. Employment areas include the internet, print, and television.

4.Scientific Photographer

Although not the first thing to come to mind when thinking of photography careers, scientific photography is an incredibly interesting profession with a high demand. The job of a scientific photographer is to record data and illustrate technical information for medicine, science, business, and government purposes.

5.Forensic photographer

A forensic photographer is a type of forensic science technician who specializes in documenting crime scenes. Forensic photographers follow a careful process of documentation and scene preservation.

6. Digital Marketing

Digital marketing uses the Internet and online based digital technologies such as desktop computers, mobile phones and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services. Having a photography qualification helps you fit into this job role and you need good photos to successfully market a product. With good photographs, you can attract attention, build trust and close more sales.

7. Photo technicians

Photo technicians, also known as photographic lab technicians, turn the film from a camera or the data from a digital camera into finished photographs. They monitor the process to ensure the best possible quality and keep records of all materials used in the process. Photo technicians also work retouching digital images, while some might still work within dark rooms to develop film photographs.

8. Estate Agency Photographer

Photography is an essential marketing tool when it comes to selling and letting properties, especially for online listings. The aim is to take photos that help potential buyers visualise themselves in the property. According to Rightmove, high quality estate agent photos attract up to 93% more leads which means that hiring a professional is in high demand!
