Gardening for wildlife and sustainability a practical guide.

This free course is available for 19+ adults who are residents of Tonbridge & Malling, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks or Maidstone Districts.  

The session consists of 1 hour theory and 2 hour practical

The course lecturer is Jemima (Mima) Taylor

This is a course with mixed theory and practical delivered by an expert in sustainable Gardening. Mima has a wealth of experience in garden design with sustainability in mind and has worked on domestic gardens and large public spaces to create a haven for wildlife. If you have an interest in gardening, wildlife and sustainability then this is the course for you.

You will look at how to turn a small space into a wildlife haven,

Which plants to create a space that will become rich in wildlife

Plants that will give the longest period of interest for your garden.

How to look after the soil to ensure wildlife thrives

Use of water and grey water to be sustainable.

The hands  on part of the course will involve time looking at Hadlow college extensive gardens – over 10 acres of gardens, both formal and areas planted with wildlife in mind such as our wildlife lake and woodland walk through the lost islands.
