To be eligible to attend the renewal course you must hold a valid in date CCNSG safety passport (or Combined CCNSG ACE card) which may be renewed up to six months before the expiry date.  If your current passport has expired prior to the course date you will not be able to attend.

On successful completion of the course a temporary Safety Passport card is issued and is valid for 6 weeks from the date of the course by which time the substantive safety passport card will have been posted by the ECITB to the learner’s preferred address. This is valid for a period of 3 years from the course date

COURSE DESCRIPTION

These courses are delivered by specialist Health and Safety tutors who are accustomed to working with a wide range of trainee abilities. The aim of the courses is to update learners’ knowledge of Health and Safety so that after an appropriate site induction, they can work at significantly less risk to themselves and others. It is not to produce Health and Safety experts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

This course is for anyone requiring a Safety Passport, when carrying out repairs or maintenance on Client sites.

COURSE CONTENT

The course content is determined by the CCNSG and reflects the knowledge that the clients require of any contractor who enters their site. It is intended to supplement rather than replace site specific induction.

The instruction is classroom based and uses interactive exercises rather than practical.  It includes 2 multi-choice answer assessments after sessions 1-3 and session 4. Candidates must pass each assessment.  Should a learner fail to achieve a pass grade on any assessment they will be given the opportunity to re-sit that paper. The candidate must pass this re-sit and any remaining assessments first time round, to gain the safety passport.

In addition to the assessment tests each candidate is required attend all sessions of the course and to participate fully in all course activities.
