T Levels are new courses which follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. They are 2-year courses which have been developed in collaboration with employers and they are designed to be the gold standard technical option for young people aged 16-19. They meet the needs of the industry and prepare students for work, future training or study. T Levels offer students a mixture of classroom/workshop/laboratory learning based on the chosen T Level.
T Levels are coming to North Kent College in September 2022 in Construction and Engineering and Manufacturing, making it an exciting time to join the College! There are plans to offer more T Level subjects in the future, so keep an eye on our website as new subjects are added.
T Levels include:
- Technical knowledge and practical skills specific to the student’s chosen industry or occupation.
- An industry placement of at least 45 days in their chosen industry or occupation.
- Relevant English and maths skills.
- Common workplace skills.
Students who achieve a T Level will get a nationally recognised certificate which employers will use as evidence in their recruitment.
North Kent College continues to develop opportunities for high quality work placements, a small selection of who we collaborate with is listed below:
