The course is made up of the following units:

The course has placement embedded into the course so learners will be attending at least two school-based settings in addition to their college studies. This allows learners to gain practical work based knowledge and skills throughout the course.

  • What qualification will I gain?

    NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning

  • Entry Requirements

    This course is progression only. This course is open to learners who have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Early Years as their year 1 or any learner from NKC that has achieved a level 2 in another area but has an interest in gaining another qualification that could allow them to work in schools. Entry requirements will be the same as Level 2 Diploma in Early Years (Four GCSE’s grade 3 or above). If a grade 4 in maths and/or English is not achieved this will be added to the timetable.

  • What progression options will I have?

    The main progression opportunity from this course would be employment into a school-based setting.

    If you wish to continue your studies, then application to the Level 3 T Level in Education and Childcare (dependent on entry grades)

  • What costs are involved?

    Tuition Fees: 16-18 - free 19+ - £1650 Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £120 This course may also attract additional costs, for example, kit, uniform, trips or books, that all students will be required to pay. Please contact the College for further details

  • How will I be assessed?

    All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include:

    Direct observation by a Tutor/Teacher/Assessor* within the workplace Written assignments and professional discussion in line with the Assessment of Learning provided for each unit.
