Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a total of 72-168 UCAS points, depending on grades achieved.

This course provides an opportunity for those students who have ambitions and aspirations of a career in the fashion, to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding.

You will work towards and explore a wide range of disciplines, materials and media, and will have the opportunity to focus and specialise your practice.

You will complete various projects which require you to develop your practical skills by experimenting with a range of materials, media and processes and demonstrate your understanding of the creative process. You will then respond to a set brief to produce a body of work for the College end of year show.

You will also complete a specialist research project linked to your areas of interest. This will be accompanied by projects which require you to develop your technical & practical skills within your chosen specialism. Your final synoptic assessment requires you to draw on everything you have learnt over the two years, and propose, plan and fully realise a self-directed and individual specialist practice project which will be exhibited in the College end of year show.

From sketchbook to catwalk, you will develop a broad range of creative and technical skills in fashion, textiles and printmaking in our industry standard printmaking studio.

This specialist pathway is based in our dedicated fashion studios and will introduce you to a broad range of creative and technical skills in fashion and textiles, such as fashion design, pattern cutting, garment construction, styling, textile techniques, printmaking, fashion photography, drawing, plus computer aided design & illustration.

Throughout the course you will increase your skills and knowledge by completing creative projects including industry set competitions and briefs. As research and idea development are central to your study, you will have the opportunity to gain inspiration from visits to galleries, museums and other locations, plus carry out contextual research to inform your projects. You will also be supported in the development of a portfolio and preparations for progression into university, apprenticeship or work.

At the end of the year your work will feature in a fashion show as part of the College end of year showing collaboration with the photography, hair, beauty and performing arts departments.
