This qualification offers a diverse range of subjects giving trainees an insight into the industry, enabling them to develop analytical, technical, and creative production skills. The course encourages a diverse range of skills giving trainees the opportunity to decide on their choice of media pathway to follow.
Students will also develop and refine an online portfolio/website, increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into a Level 3 course or employment. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities is embedded into our work, offering trainees grounding to further explore radio, journalism, film, studio, camera work, technical skills and editing.
Projects may include:? Advertising campaigns, podcasts, promotional video, photography and short film production.?
Our Education Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and maths skills as required, depending on your GCSE results upon entry.

Entry Requirements
Minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and preferably maths and one creative subject. Or an equivalent Level 1 Qualification in Art and Design at merit or above. You will need a positive school report/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor.
We also require a portfolio of work to be presented at interview. You will also be set an interview task when you apply to bring along to your interview.

How will I be assessed?
All of your work will follow a vocational scenario or context that simulates a real-world situation. You will present your work in a range of formats. The final assessment is through a final major project which will determine your grade for the qualification. A Pass, Merit or Distinction can be achieved.
