Today (Friday 20 October) is the day when Chefs around the world celebrate, and are celebrated, as part of International Chefs Day.
The event was first held in 2004 and was the brainchild of the late chef Billy Gallagher, who served as the president and then honorary life president of the World Association of Chefs Societies.
