Love taking photos? Got an eye for a picture? See yourself at a photoshoot or taking photos for advertising, fashion magazines or weddings? Then combine your studies with your passion and make this course the one for you.

You will learn about different types of photographers, lighting techniques, filters within the studio setting or on location, digital imaging and editing. You will also have access to our fully equipped studios and darkroom, where you will be show how to experiment with a range of photographic and printing techniques. You will create high quality visual images for a portfolio and get the opportunity to exhibit your final project for a public audience. This is the perfect introduction to learning how to become a creative and employable photographer.

Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

  • What qualification will I gain?

    UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design (Photography)

  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSE's 3-9 incl English and Maths, or equivalent, plus Interview and Portfolio/example of creative work. You will need a positive school report including attendance/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor.

  • What progression options will I have?

    A Merit achieved in this qualification will allow you to progress to UAL L3 Diploma in Creative Practice:Art, Design and Communication (Photography)

  • What costs are involved?

    Tuition Fees: 16-18 - free 19+ - £1650 Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £175 This course may also attract additional costs, for example, kit, uniform or books, that all students will be required to pay. Please contact the College for further details.

    Continuous assessment through project work and Final Major Project at year end to achieve final grade
