Motor vehicle workshop

Please be aware that all of our Motor Vehicle courses for the North Kent College, Tonbridge campus from September 2022, will be delivered at our Hadlow College campus in our brand new Motor Vehicle workshops.

Train to work as a service technician working on motorcycles.

You will learn both the theory and practical aspects of how to work with motorcycles including:

  • Diagnosis and rectification of engine and component faults

  • Chassis system faults

  • Auxiliary equipment electrical faults

  • Health and safety in the workplace

You will be assessed by practical and written tasks and externally set examinations.

Supported work experience is arranged with your tutor.

    IMI Level 3 Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair (Motor Vehicle)

  • Entry Requirements

    You will need a Level 2 Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair and achievement of GCSE English and Maths at grades 9-4/A*-C or Functional Skills Level 2.

    You should have an enthusiasm for Motorcycles and a desire for a career in the Motorcycle in

  • What progression options will I have?

    Progress in to advanced Apprenticeship or employment.

    Tuition Fees: 16-18 - free 19+ Advanced Learning Loan - £3345 Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £130 This course may also attract additional costs, for example, kit, uniform, trips or books, that all students will be required to pay.
