North Kent College’s Early Years students have been testing out VR Headsets recently to see the benefits their immersive learning experiences can bring.
There are 30 VR headsets in the Early Years departments at the Dartford and Tonbridge campuses, and once a student puts one on, they are transported into a 360° view that brings the curriculum alive.
Learners can be transported to various environments, historical periods or even imaginary worlds.
For Early Years students, this could mean taking students on virtual field trips to different habitats, historical landmarks or even fictional storybook settings, providing immersive learning experiences that enhance understanding and engagement.
The College has 90 headsets in total across its four campuses in Dartford, Tonbridge, Gravesend and Hadlow, and they allow for significant learning opportunities for many curriculum areas.
If you have a passion to work with children, then an Early Year’s course is the perfect place to start. It can lead to a variety of careers from a nursery nurse to a primary school teacher and more.
At North Kent College we offer Early Years courses at both our Dartford and Tonbridge campuses. The courses are taught by industry professionals and include real life work placements to give students hands on professional training.
