North Kent College student Aisha Ahmed is celebrating after progressing to the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships next month.

Aisha Ahmed, who studies Digital Journalism at the Dartford Campus, won her first ever RDA Regional Dressage Qualifier at Arrow RDA Centre in Dartford, taking part in the Led Dressage category.

That means she now takes her place at the National Final at Hartpury College from 12 July to 14 July. The event is the biggest of its kind with trophies in everything from dressage to carriage driving to vaulting up for grabs.

Aisha was delighted with her performance, saying: "I started horse riding two years ago to improve my overall physical wellbeing, with no idea that one day I will achieve first place in my very first dressage competition. Once the results came out I was both shocked and excited in what I have achieved, and cannot wait to see what Nationals have in store for me."
