North Kent College students recently used the skills they are learning to raise £1,000 for a local charity.
Events and Business students planned and organised a Christmas Fair at the College’s Dartford campus.
Students designed and set up their own stalls and collaborated with other curriculum areas including Hair and Make-up, Photography, Miskin Radio and the Student Union, to create the festive event.
There were a number of games on offer including a chocolate tombola, Tin Can Alley, Pie the Teacher and more, along with plenty of food and drink.
It all raised money for the Swanley based charity ‘Beams’ which supports disabled children, young people and their families.
Helen Ward-Nixon, Head of Curriculum (Travel & Tourism) for North Kent College, said: “It was fantastic to see our students put what they have learned in the classroom into action for our Christmas Fair. Everyone had a fantastic time and most importantly we raised money for a very worthy local charity.”
