North Kent College students sharpened their barbering skills with a masterclass from an industry expert earlier this week.
Jacob Brooker visited the College’s Gravesend Campus to deliver a skin fade masterclass to Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing students.
Jacob, who has been running a successful barbershop, JWS Barbers in Strood, for over eight years, shared his wealth of knowledge with the students, who were able to watch a live demonstration of two fade haircuts on different hair types.
“I had a great time demonstrating these haircuts to the students,” said Jacob. “They were enthusiastic, motivated, and asked insightful questions, which shows they already have a strong understanding of the industry.”
North Kent College has purpose-built hairdressing salons at its Tonbridge, Dartford and Gravesend campuses, and each are Lee Stafford affiliated academies.
A range of hairdressing and barbering courses are offered with students taught all the skills to master what celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford calls the ‘Michelin standard’ of hairdressing.
The College was also named by the Lee Stafford Education Foundation as its Education College of the Year in 2023.
Students learn in a state-of-the-art hairdressing salon, with all the latest equipment and products, fully supported by a team of experienced hairdressers and barbers.
The three salons are open most weekdays, and on selected evenings, to the general public with students providing all of the services, from working on the reception desk to implementing the latest styles and trends, at a fraction of the cost.
