North Kent College’s Culinary Academy students cooked up a storm with a charity event that raised almost £1,000 for a local charity.
More than 70 people attended the Ellenor Hospice Charity Night held at North Kent College’s Gallery Restaurant at Gravesend which featured a two-course menu prepared by students, live music, a pop-up bar and shop and more.
The end of year event provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the student’s expertise, whilst raising money for a good cause at the same time.
“Throughout the evening there was an amazing atmosphere. The band created such a wonderful experience for everyone, and it was so nice to know that what we were doing was for such a good cause. I had a feeling of proudness throughout the night knowing that all the money we raised will go to people who need support at such difficult time and even though we don’t know these people we are still helping them,” said Luke Short, Level 1 Culinary Academy student.
“The Ellenor hospice charity night was not only a great opportunity to show off what we have learnt from the course over the past year it was also an amazing opportunity to celebrate a charity that helps so many people in the area. The event was for such an important cause, close to so many people. It was also good to see some live music and bring people together to celebrate and enjoy some brilliant food,” added Eva Kinsey, Level 1 Culinary Academy Student.
Thank you to all of our suppliers and friends, who helped make the night possible by sponsoring the event with cash donations and some fantastic raffle prizes.
