North Kent College’s Head of Apprenticeships and two students spoke to around 15,000 young people earlier this week to tell them about the options available to them after school.
Hope West presented to the students as part of the PAL Live 2025 event run by the Kent and Medway Careers Hub and the Careers and Enterprise Company. Hope spoke about the benefits of T Levels and Apprenticeships and the options available at North Kent College.
She then passed over to North Kent College student Frankie Bray who is taking a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. Frankie shared her journey and highlighted how an apprenticeship provides hands-on learning that goes beyond that which can be gained in the classroom.
Then Fran Price spoke about studying for a T Level in Design, Survey & Planning in Construction at the College alongside undertaking her work placement with Vistry Group. Fran explained how she has 1 or 2 days a week working on site, alongside her time spent in the College.
Thousands of students from across Kent and Medway attended the online event to hear from a range of experts, training providers and young people and to learn more specifically about the T Level and apprenticeship opportunities available to them.
Other organisations that took part included MidKent College, East Kent College, the University of Kent, Lower Thames Crossing, ABM Training and IPS International.
The event was arranged to encourage students to consider what learning pathways they want to pursue next, the skills and qualifications they need to progress, and what working in those area might be like.
Louise Rochford, Careers Consultant at Kent & Medway Careers Hub, says: “Thank you to North Kent College and all the presenters for delivering such insightful and engaging sessions for PAL Live Online 2025 during NAW. Their dedication and expertise made the event truly exceptional.”
