North Kent College hairdressing students were offered first hand advice by an icon from the industry recently.
Celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford visited the Tonbridge and the Dartford campuses to offer Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Hairdressing students from Dartford, Gravesend and Tonbridge insights into his illustrious career and to showcase the techniques that have earned him recognition as one of the most distinguished hairdressers of his generation.
During his visit Stafford demonstrated a long graduation and a twisted tong recipe before fielding a wide array of questions from eager students. Reflecting on his own journey, he highlighted winning the Men’s British Hairdresser of the Year award as a career pinnacle. Additionally he referenced a recent national job survey, which hailed hairdressing as one of the happiest professions and spoke on why he is so passionate about educating the next generation of hairdressers.
Hayley Clement, Head of Curriculum for Hair, Beauty Therapy and Make-Up Artistry at Tonbridge, said: “The visit from Lee Stafford was truly inspiring and left our students captivated. Their enthusiasm and joy were palpable as they absorbed invaluable knowledge and skills, igniting their passion for hair. Through Lee's visit, students experienced firsthand the power of determination and hard work. His journey exemplified that with dedication and perseverance, anything is achievable. He not only imparted technical expertise but also instilled in our students the belief that their dreams in the world of hairdressing are within reach with unwavering commitment.”
