Gavin White, CEO of AutoTech Group and Storm Stacey, the youngest rider in the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, visited our Motor Vehicle, Sports and Cycle students to discussed careers within the industry and their personal experiences.
AutoTech is a family run company providing services in accident repairs and body shop work, they invest in the latest technology and equipment meaning that Autotech has led the way in customer service with the highest possible repair quality.
Originally Auto Tech were due to attend the annual careers fair however after finding out we offered courses within the field they kindly supported the students by going the extra mile and bring their sponsored rider down for a tailored session.
Gavin White, CEO of Autotech Group discussed with students how the company can help further their careers in the industry with the multiple pathways and options they have available. The students were joined by the youngest British Superbike riders ever and the youngest ever rider to win a Superstock 600 race. He spoke with students about the positive and negatives of being in the toughest UK Motorcycle championships as well as dealing with mental health issues.
Strom Stacey said, “It was refreshing to see people my age so interested in what I do and how they can get into working in the same industry! I think they all seem keen to put the work in they have just got to do it.”
Students found the session extremely interesting and helpful; students engaged with both Storm and Gavin, asking various questions regarding the motor and racing industry.
