Hairdressing students on stage with two presenters either side

Cutting-edge hairdressing and barbering techniques, industry insights, and inspiring demonstrations took centre stage at a special event hosted at North Kent College’s Tonbridge campus recently.

The College teamed up with VTCT Skills, a leading expert in hair and barbering qualifications, to put on the Collective: LIVE event which was attended by more than 50 industry professionals and hairdressing and barbering students from across the South-East.

The event featured a series of expert-led demonstrations, with renowned hairdressers George Newton Beck and Phil Jarman highlighting the latest styling methods and industry trends. A unique presentation by CLOUD NINE introduced The Temperature Calculator, an innovative tool offering attendees a glimpse into the future of heated styling, and there was a dedicated showcase to demonstrate the work of the College’s hairdressing and barbering students.

A range of fantastic prizes and goody bags for all attendees were up for grabs courtesy of Denman, Hairdressers Journal and CLOUD NINE, with plenty of opportunity to network and ask questions of industry experts.

Stacie Collings, Assistant Principal (Curriculum) for North Kent College, says: “We are incredibly proud to host events like Collective: LIVE, which bring together students and professionals to celebrate and develop the future of the hairdressing and barbering industry. Providing our students with access to leading experts and innovative tools ensures they are industry-ready and equipped with the latest techniques and knowledge.”
