A North Kent College lecturer has been named as runner-up in a prestigious national award for their work inspiring the next generation of professional painters and decorators.
Painting and Decorating Technician Joe Love (pictured above) took second place in the Painting and Decorator Mentor of the Year category, run by paint supplies company Purdy.
Purdy’s Mentor of the Year competition gives those learning the trade the chance to nominate the people that are having a positive influence on them and their learning.
Joe, who received a cheque for £500, expressed his delight at the award, saying: “I’m truly honoured to place the runner-up spot for the ‘Purdy Mentor of the Year’ in the lecturer category. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to my incredible students for their trust and support. Guiding them through their academic journey is a privilege.
“This recognition serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of mentorship, further fuelling my commitment to continue inspiring and empowering each student as they navigate their path to success.”
