This year our student union teams across all campuses held end of year celebration events for all students to enjoy with help from the student support team.
The aim of the events was to celebrate another successful college year and the Students’ Union did that in style. Working in collaboration with the student support team, the SU students planned fantastic events at each campus spanning over one week. The planning took place on the lead up to the events, they encouraged curriculum areas to get involved as well as hiring outside companies.
The activities and stalls from outside venders available included Bouncy Castles (Tonbridge Bouncy Castles), 360 Photo Booth (360 Photobooth UK), Get It (Sexual Health), Rubin Clinic (Sexual Health), Toni Bell and Alice's ice's (Ice cream vans) and a driving instructor (Tonbridge campus only). The events also saw activities from many departments at NKC including Hairdressing (Dartford and Tonbridge), Painting & Decorating (Gravesend), Catering (Gravesend and Tonbridge), Music (Tonbridge), Public Services (Gravesend) and Sports (Tonbridge).
The students’ union host many events throughout the year including Freshers Fair at the beginning of the academic year. They are always happy to welcome new members and bring fresh ideas to the college!
Ros Beaney, Student Welfare and Safeguarding Officer (Dartford & Gravesend), said ‘I would like to shoutout the students’ union members including Joe Melillo, Niki Markuse, Phillip Watts, Leah Woodrow, Erykah Farrell and Stephanie Walker for all their work putting together these events’
Emma-Marie Bridgeland, Student Welfare and Safeguarding Officer (Tonbridge & Hadlow) commented ‘At the Tonbridge event we were blessed with perfect weather and an amazing amount of curriculum and student support from the music department, Sports and Hairdressing. Our Student Union and Identity group represented the college with Flair and the buzz created by the event is still being talked about favourably today from some very unlikely candidates.’
Erykah Farrell, Students’ Union President (Gravesend) said "I feel like the events were a great hit and that the students enjoyed their end of year celebration."
