Engineering students at North Kent College are set to benefit from cutting-edge industry equipment thanks to a generous donation from a local company.
Sicame UK Ltd, based in Hoo, near Rochester, has donated a CNC lathe to the College’s Engineering Department, providing students with access to essential hands-on experience with industry-standard machinery.
Dave Skinner, Senior Assessor (Engineering) at North Kent College, says: “We have had a great relationship with Sicame for nearly ten years now. My first HNC apprentice is now the workshop manager at Sicame and we currently have one learner finishing his Level 3 apprenticeship with them.
“It is a very generous donation and a real asset to our students and the department. A huge thank you to Sicame.”
North Kent College offers a range of Engineering courses at its Gravesend campus, with workshops, laboratories, and classrooms designed to meet the highest industry standards. All teaching staff have extensive industry experience, ensuring students gain practical and relevant skills applicable across various engineering sectors.
