Engineering and Motor Vehicle students at North Kent College got an insight into their potential career paths when Ryanair visited its Gravesend campus.

Lauren Dixon, Engineering Recruitment Manager, and Daisy Martyn, Talent Acquisition Specialist, came in to talk to students about the company and explain more about the two main routes students have when it comes to working for the Irish air carrier: apprenticeships and traineeships.

The visit began with an overview of the company, which operates around 3,600 daily flights across 2,500 routes from 250 airports in 37 countries across Europe. Lauren and Daisy discussed how Ryanair already has six training centres across Europe with two more in the pipeline.

They also explained the importance of making a good first impression, saying that they observe how students behave and engage with them at visits to schools and colleges, and have even turned down applications due to a bad first impression at a visit.

Lauren and Daisy then explained more about Ryanair’s Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs. This was a return visit for the Irish company who also came to the College last year to seek potential applicants from the students.
