A group of North Kent College students have just returned from an unforgettable international experience, exploring some of the USA’s and Caribbean’s most iconic destinations.
The students, who study subjects including Business, Travel and Hospitality, visited Miami and the Bahamas, where they enjoyed visits to world-famous sights such as the Everglades, Little Havana, and Miami Beach.
As well as sightseeing, the trip offered students the chance to grow their confidence, develop independence and immerse themselves in new cultures, all while having plenty of fun.
“It was such a well-planned and enjoyable trip with so many fun activities,” said Hospitality student Joshua Forrest. “It was my first time in America and definitely won’t be my last!”
Travel student Madeleine Lambourne added: “We had lots of different activities to do each day which were great fun.”
Several students highlighted how the trip helped them bond with others and build lasting friendships. “I went knowing no one and came back with eight new friends,” said Business student Georgina Male, while Travel student Alicia Forbes called it “one of the best trips I’ve ever been on – living it up in Miami and the Bahamas!”
Students also appreciated the cultural insights the trip provided. “I loved learning about the different cultures in Miami and how they have shaped certain areas.” said Ellissia Gates. “There was a shop in Little Havana that was filled with traditional Cuban clothing, which was very memorable.”
