RuPaul's Drag Race was recently named the top competition program at the 2021 Emmys and RuPaul put twelve drag queens through their paces over 10 weeks before crowning the third UK's Next Drag Race Superstar as Krystal Versace AKA Luke Fenn.
North Kent College would like to congratulate Krystal Versace - Luke Fenn, who studied Level 2 Technical Certificate in Makeup Artistry at North Kent College, Tonbridge Campus, for being crowned the winner of Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. At just 20 years old, Krystal is the youngest winner of the competition!
Krystal Versace’s talent was demonstrated early in the competition, where she came out on top for the first two episodes making it clear that she was the one to watch. Her hard work and determination meant she went from strength to strength to be crowned UK's Next Drag Superstar after a close finale against competitors Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus.
Luke’s former tutor, Tanisha Church said, ‘I am so incredibly proud of Luke’s successful win as Krystal Versace on drag race UK season 3.
It was clear that Luke had clear talent from the minute he walked through the makeup studio door. A confident artist, creating beautiful makeup looks repeatedly. Luke began to do drag for fun whilst studying with us, but made it clear he wanted to do drag as a career. To see how successful he has been, with hard work and determination in such a short time, and mostly through lock down is truly inspirational. Seeing the flawless makeup application week by week makes me beam with pride.
Watching my ex-students successfully achieving their dream, enables me to recognise why I do my job and why being part of a young person’s journey is so important. Congratulations Krystal Versace.’
Well done to Luke on this amazing achievement! North Kent College can’t wait to see what the future holds for Krystal Versace.
