Our Level 3 Extended Diploma Photography students have brought their work to life and are now showcasing their talents to the public at Bluewater Shopping Centre.
NIGHTFALL is an exhibition crafted by 18 of our learners and includes a range of responses to the theme- from gothic-inspired fashion, surreal night visions and eerie cinematic scenes, through to images that shine a light on some of society's stereotypes, and in doing so, brings opportunities for growth and change.
During the project our students kept in mind to create work that would engage and entertain the local audience, whilst experiencing the various elements involved in showing their work to the public. So far, the students have gained valuable and transferable skills from this process, that they will be able to apply to various progression routes within the creative and marketing industries.
Our Lecturer in Photography, Rachel Letchford, stated, “Our students are so excited to exhibit their work at Bluewater, as it is such an integral part of the local community, and they have all grown up visiting the centre. We are grateful to Bluewater for providing the space for our exhibition and for supporting our students.”
James Waugh, Centre Director at Bluewater, added, “We are delighted to be able to support North Kent College, and in turn, support Kent-based creatives. We hope the exhibition will inspire the next generation of artists at our local schools and colleges.”
The public can view the NIGHTFALL exhibition for free in The Lower Guildhall at Bluewater, until Wednesday 16th March.
Congratulations to our Level 3 Extended Diploma Photography students on this incredible achievement and for putting together an extraordinary showcase.
