The Motorcycle Live Show is the UK’s largest motorcycle show, with just under 90,000 motorcycle enthusiasts attending over the nine days this year. Supported by over 50 motorcycle and scooter manufacturers, both electric and combustion engines it is a central meeting point for all biking enthusiasts.
On the 24th of November students from North Kent College visited the show, travelling up to the National Exhibitions Centre, Birmingham. The show offered students the chance to see almost every motorcycle currently available on the UK market from manufacturers such as Ducati, KTM, BMW, Yamaha, Harley Davidson and many more. They were able to liaise with industry professionals and get a feel for what it’s like working in the motorcycle industry.
Our Level 3 Motorcycle student Deividas Petrikias said “I was given the opportunity to talk to experts working in the industry, they were all very welcoming and informative. I learnt a lot about ‘Hel Brakes’ production process and costs and was even offered a tour of the factory”.
The event included other facets of the industry such as different parts and accessories companies, insurance providers, clothing suppliers and even tour companies. This year factory tours have been secured with Norton Motorcycles- a prestigious British motorcycle manufacture and industry-leading brake manufacturer.
Level 3 student Scarlette Edwards said, “There was so much to see, and it was great to be able to sit on all the different models and see them up close”.
